The Benedictine monks are thought to have been the first to have introduced olive trees in Imperia – the typical variety of which in these areas is known as “Taggiasca” – as well as the terrace plantation of olive groves and vineyards throughout the countryside. Actually, 99% of the olive groves of the province are of the Taggiasca variety and they occupy the biggest surface area in Badalucco. And here, in this well preserved village, you’ll meet a famous ligurian olive oil producer who will introduce and explain you the olive oil production together with visiting his family oil mill. Then he will welcome you to taste his delicious products. An experience not to miss!
