What You Can Expect

Day 1 – Arrival day! Welcome to Liguria, the region where we live and work with passion!

Today is your arrival day, welcome to the Italian Riviera. Take some time to relax at your charming and elegant accommodation in the Tigullio area after a long trip to arrive to our region and start living the Italian style living.

In the evening you’ll taste one of our favorite Italian restaurant cuisine in the area (wine included, of course!)

Day 2 – Let’s discover Genoa ultra-centenarian food shops and food market!

Today with your local insider you’ll have a brief walking tour of the historical center of Genoa discovering the town and its ancient food shops!

Wandering through the “Carrugi” alleys is a unique experience and we believe that by just walking through these maze of historical streets, you’ll find the “real” Genoa essence.

You’ll discover the largest medieval old town in Europe, walk along its authentic medieval alleyways, stop in the squares and in the renaissance streets of the historical town and discover the ultra-centenarian food shops of the historical center: the old “friggitorie” serving friscieu (fried croquettes filled with herbs), farinata, fried fresh seafood eaten at the counter or to take away, the prestigious old pastry cafè where the famous composer Giuseppe Verdi loved to spend his time tasting the pastries , the 200 years old “Pietro Romanengofu Stefano” shop!

You’ll also visit Genoa biggest food market, a food lover’s paradise! You’ll see local people in action in their everyday life. You will be captured by a smell of fresh focaccia and you notice various cheese stalls, meat stalls, bakeries, shops that sell handmade pasta, fresh fish, fruits and vegetables in season. The shopkeepers are friendly and they love to explain the origin of their products and the best way to cook them with simple and tasty recipes.

For lunch, you’ll be welcomed in a typical Genoese trattoria which is one of our favorite! (included)

Afternoon at your disposal to spend on your own.

For dinner, we’ll give you our suggested list of favorite places where to eat.

Day 3 – A day in Cinque Terre meeting a local wine producer in his amazing terraced vineyards!

After breakfast, you’ll meet your local insider and together you’ll reach the Cinque Terre villages for a walking day immersed in the beauty of these Unesco World Heritage site. You’ll meet a local producer and you will be immediately captured by the breathtaking beauty of his terraced vineyards overlooking the crystalline sea! He will tell you his family story, his passion for wine production and hard work.

Together you will taste his wines and have a rich buffet with handmade products.

In the evening we’ll give you suggestions where to eat.

Day 4 – A unique experience in Portofino with an agronomist and an Italian chef for a cooking lesson

After breakfast, you’ll meet your local insider with whom you’ll reach the beautiful Portofino for a unique experience. In Portofino you’ll be welcomed by an agronomist to take a walk and follow him in the terraced vineyards, olive groves and aromatic herbs to learn and acquire part of the ingredients which will be used in your cooking lesson. A lovely morning with a different perspective of Portofino village.

During your cooking lesson you’ll have fun and learn to cook some typical ligurian dishes, the famous Genoese pesto sauce and have lunch.

In the afternoon you’ll have time to spend on your own and relax.

For dinner, we’ll give you our suggested list of favorite places where to eat.

Day 5 – Arrivederci day!

After breakfast, check-out. Today it’s the “arrivederci” day. We will look forward to meeting you again and hope that you enjoyed your food trip in our territory. We can assist you if you would like to see more about the Italian Riviera or with private transfers.
