[nggallery id=68]Last Thursday was a feast day, it was the Feast in honor of Genoa’s Patron: San Giovanni Battista, Saint John the Baptist. That day, I decided to take a day off with my fiancè. We took our Vespa scooter and went to one of my favorites places here in Liguria, the Saracens Bay in Varigotti, on the Western Liguria Coast.

When I visited Varigotti’s village it was love at first sight. I fall in love with its caracteristic houses of the Mediterranean type in pastel colors, its “carrugi” (alleys), its ancient castle, its medieval abbey called “San Lorenzo Vecchio”, its beautiful beach “Bay of the Saracens”, its typical restaurants where you can taste seafood dishes or take an aperitif.

Varigotti beaches are famous for its peacfulness and for the cleaness and the purity of the sea waters surrounded by the Mediterranean Vegetation and as it was not enough, I made also a video of the breathtaking beach “Bay of the Saracens”… have a look (It’s my first video, I’m trying to improve the result, anyway I hope you enjoy it).
