A food tour that will allow you to discover the best Parma culinary traditions! Your private driver and private tour guide will pick you up in La Spezia in the morning and together you will reach a Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese Factory. You will discover how the King of all cheeses has been made in the same way since the Benedictine monks invented it centuries ago: you’ll first see the hand making, then the salt pools and finally the “wheel cathedrals”! At the end of the tour, there will be a tasting of different aged Parmigiano Reggiano Cheeses.
Afterward, with your private driver and tour guide, you will reach the idyllic hills of Langhirano or Felino, home of Prosciutto di Parma Ham. You will get to know why the best ham can only be made in the hills of Parma, where the “Marino” wind blows from the Ligurian Sea through the so-called Food Valley of Italy.
From here you will have lunch in a typical Italian restaurant where you will eat traditional Parma food, such as Parmigiano Reggiano cheeses, Parma ham, torta fritta, tortelli erbetta and zucca, local wine of Lambrusco, cakes and espresso coffee.
The tour continues to a Balsamic Vinegar farmhouse in Modena. This will be one of the most amazing gourmet goodies a foodie traveler could discover, and tasting historic Balsamic in a real “Acetaia” is a fascinating experience. At the end of the visit there will be a tasting of balsamic vinegars with our typical Lambrusco wine, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and other typical products.
