Among the 3 Nebbiolo elective areas, Barbaresco is the smallest one. The claylimestone composition of the soil here is enriched with sand and blue marl, making the wines in this area famous for their natural elegance and feminine persuasive touch. Stop in the tiny Barbaresco town, with possibility to admire the wonderful view from the panoramic tower and to stop by the Regional Enoteca, and then time for a stroll in Neive, one of the nicest towns in Italy.
Your day continues with a guided visit to a family-run winery in Barbaresco and a lunch in a characteristic eatery.
In the afternoon, you’ll reach the Barolo Hills, which roll through just eleven municipalities and run parallel to the river Tanaro. Along with the climate, layers of clay and limestone marl give different blends of elegance, longevity and majesty, the elements typical of Barolo. The area of Barolo is a great ode to Bacchus on every hill, where the cellars are the temples and the farmers the vestals. Here you will visit a prestigious winery with tasting.
