The event has been exciting and multicultural. In fact, there were participants from different countries, Argentina, Canada, Russia, Germany, France, Belgium, USA, Japan, Great Britain and more which met at Palazzo Ducale. All of them were united just by one love: pesto sauce!
Who participates learn how seriously it is possible to take pesto, with DOP- certified basil, IGT pine nuts, ‘Aglio Vessalico’ garlic from Imperia and DOP Olive Oil Rivieria Ligure among the ingredients specified for the official recipe of the Championship.
My personal memory of this 4th World Pesto Championship is the great intense aroma of basil which has filled the air at Palazzo Ducale and how great is the atmosphere that you can breathe while entering this historic palace!
