Check-in at your boutique hotel in Genoa and prepare yourself for a tasting dinner chez Roberto aka The King of Pesto!
After breakfast, you’ll meet your private local tour guide for an amazing walking tour of the historical center of Genoa discovering the town and its ancient food shops! It will look like stepping back in time discovering the centuries old food shops of the historical center: the old “friggitorie” serving friscieu (fried croquettes filled with herbs), farinata, fried fresh seafood eaten at the counter or to take away, the prestigious old pastry cafè where the famous composer Giuseppe Verdi loved to spend his time tasting the pastries and then, the “Pietro Romanengofu Stefano” old shop.
Then, you’ll have a pesto sauce lesson done by our Pesto expert. He will welcome you in a gorgeous Renaissance palace. Here, under centuries old frescoes you will learn how to make the famous pesto sauce with mortar and pestle, following the old tradition. After the pesto lesson you will have lunch with typical and genuine Ligurian specialties, accompanied by local wine!
Your private guide will pick you up at the hotel to start an amazing tour of the Portofino area.
Take a stroll among villas and gardens in the elegant coastal resort of Santa Margherita with its painted palaces and lovely harbor. From here, you will reach Portofino with a panoramic trip by public boat.
In one of the typical colorful houses of Portofino village you’ll be welcomed by a local chef to enjoy a cooking class. This is a great chance to immerse yourself in the Italian Riviera extraordinary flavors. You’ll learn how to make typical handmade pasta and discover the secrets of Ligurian cuisine! You’ll use many local ingredients grown in Portofino on the recovered lands brought back to life by a group of dynamic producers.
Before the lesson, it is possible to reach the panoramic terraced garden of the producer to collect fresh herbs, an essential ingredient of Ligurian recipes.
At the end of the cooking lesson you’ll have lunch, enjoying the fruits of your labors accompanied with local wine made in Portofino!
After you will take a digestive stroll in the village with its lovely piazzetta overlooking the sea, the glittering boutiques and VIP yachts.
After breakfast check-out and transfer to Cinque Terre by private driver.
Along the way you will stop in Chiavari a lively town still untouched by tourists. Accompanied by your private insider you will take a walking tour of the Medieval historical center with its alleys flanked by ancient arcades and noble palaces. You will discover traditional food and artisans shops and the colorful market. At lunch you will taste the best Farinata (a flat cake made of chickpea flour) cooked in the old wood oven of a traditional trattoria.
Continue your way to Cinque Terre and check in at your boutique accommodation. Slow down and feel the breeze coming from the sea.
Today you will take an authentic tour of the picturesque villages. Exploring the hamlets with your insider will make a difference since you will get in touch with the authentic soul of these lovely villages, we’ll navigate you away from crowds and tourist traps. You will discover secret corners and the best places to take amazing pictures.
To understand the real essence of Cinque Terre, your experience continues visiting the amazing vineyards overlooking the sea.
A local wine producer will welcome you in his vertical vineyards: you will hear about his story and discover the huge job there’s behind the heroic wine of Cinque Terre. After admiring the breathtaking panorama you will visit his ancient cellar and taste the most typical Cinque Terre wines among which the rare Sciacchetrà, paired with traditional appetizers.
Today our local expert chef will guide you for a tour of the very authentic food market of La Spezia. You will learn about local fishes and vegetables and buy the ingredients for your cooking class. After this genuine shopping tour, you will learn to prepare the most typical local recipes of the area such as the famous stuffed mussels and other specialties that you will eat at the end of the lesson, with great local wine of course!
In the afternoon we suggest you to take a ferry from La Spezia and reach the amazing village of Portovenere.
