Food tour and focaccia and cheese focaccia baking class with a food writer
A stroll in the narrow alleys of Genoa with Enrica, a local food writer deeply in love with her city. A friendly little chat discovering Genoese flavors and culinary traditions. A small treasure hunt of the little shops scattered in Genoa’s historic center. You will discover the first confectioners’ shop in Italy, the ancient spice shops where time has stopped a century ago and the historical veggie market of the city. You will learn how to choose the best Focaccia, or taste the best “panera” ice-cream. You will discover why Genoa can be considered the cradle of pasta, of street-food and of Mediterranean diet. It will be a short journey in the local customs and food culture during which you will delight your taste buds with many samples you will eat during the path. Then Enrica will welcome you to her house and teach you to prepare the famous Focaccia di Recco with its thin layer of dough, and finally taste everything with some good wine.
